The trek is rated moderate to challenging. You’ll be hiking 5–7 hours a day at high altitude, with gradual ascent and some steep sections. No technical climbing is involved, but good physical fitness and mental determination are important.
Not necessarily. Many first-time trekkers complete the EBC trek successfully. However, previous hiking experience and some endurance training (like walking, jogging, or stair climbing) is highly recommended.
Yes. Since the trek goes above 5,000 meters, altitude sickness can occur. Our itinerary includes rest and acclimatization days to minimize risk, and our guides are trained in AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) awareness and response.
The trek begins in Lukla, which is reached via a 30-minute scenic flight from Kathmandu. We handle all flight arrangements for you.
You’ll stay in locally-run teahouses during the trek—simple but clean rooms with twin beds, blankets, and shared bathrooms. In Kathmandu, we provide 3-star hotel accommodation.
Teahouses offer a variety of meals: dal bhat (rice & lentils), pasta, noodles, soup, pancakes, momos, and tea/coffee. We provide three meals a day during the trek.
We’ll provide a detailed packing list upon booking. Essentials include:
Warm layers and a down jacket
Sleeping bag (can be rented)
Trekking boots
Water bottles or hydration system
Headlamp, sunscreen, and basic medicine
Wi-Fi (paid) is available in most teahouses, but signal strength varies. Mobile network (NCELL or NTC) works in some areas. Don’t rely on consistent connectivity.
No. A porter will carry your duffel bag (up to 10–12 kg). You only carry a small daypack with essentials (water, camera, snacks, etc.).
Yes. We prioritize safety first, using experienced guides, ensuring proper acclimatization, and having emergency plans in place, including helicopter rescue support if needed.
Yes. You can obtain a visa on arrival at Kathmandu airport. A 15-day visa costs USD 30. Bring 2 passport-sized photos and cash.
We recommend carrying USD 200–300 in Nepali rupees for snacks, Wi-Fi, charging, hot showers, and tips. ATMs are available only in Kathmandu and Namche Bazaar.
The best seasons are:
Spring (March–May) – Clear skies, blooming rhododendrons
