Day 2 08 JUNE 2026: REST & TIBET VISA PREPARATION

Free day in Kathmandu while your Tibet Group Visa is processed. Optional visit to: Boudhanath Stupa – one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world, a UNESCO site and a center of Tibetan Buddhism. Day 410 JUNE 2026 DRIVE KATHMANDU – TATOPANI (NEPAL BORDER) – CROSS INTO TIBET AT KHASA – DRIVE TO NYALAM (3,750M)

Scenic 4–5 hr drive Kathmandu to Tatopani border via Araniko Highway. Cross Nepal-China border at Tatopani / Khasa (Miteri Bridge). Continue 1.5–2.5 hr drive along Tibetan highway to Nyalam town (3,750m) for acclimatization. Overnight in Nyalam.

Day 511 JUNE 2026: VISIT MILAREPA PLACE NEAR NYALAM (3,750M)

Acclimatization day in Nyalam and visit to Milarepa place, a small village and sacred heritage

Day 6 12 JUNE 2026: DRIVE NYALAM – TINGRI (4,300M)

Do I need a visa to travel to Tibet?

Yes. All foreign travelers must obtain a Tibet Travel Permit and a Tibet Group Visa.

How difficult is this trip?

This is a moderate-grade overland cultural journey. No trekking is required, but you’ll spend multiple days at altitudes above 3,500m–4,300m.
